GLO Attribute Application Process

Assigning a Global Learning Outcome (GLO) attribute to courses is a process that faculty and department chairs will initiate by self-identifying courses within their units-of-study that offer global/international content and/or that contains global learning opportunities. These courses must match at least one of the course's Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) with one of the SLOs listed as part of the QEP's Learning Goals and Outcomes (please see below). Agreement among faculty in courses with multiple sections must be acquired before proceeding with the request.

The faculty and/or chair of the department will complete an application form for the courses being recommended. After each department reviews and approves courses to carry the GLO attribute, the completed form with a copy of each corresponding syllabus will be submitted to the dean of the college. The appropriate college council will then confirm the course and forward the form and syllabus to the QEP director. Finally, a small group from the QEP office will complete a final evaluation based on SLO criteria.

The approved list of courses will be submitted and presented to AP&P by the Office of the QEP as an FIO (for information only).
