Global Learning: A World of Opportunity for Appalachian Students
Appalachian State University has chosen “Global Learning: A World of Opportunities for Appalachian Students” as its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a requirement of the university’s reaccreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
The QEP serves as a roadmap that addresses a well-defined topic related to improving student learning, based on a university’s mission and goals.
Through “Global Learning,” students at Appalachian will engage in diverse experiences at home and abroad to:
- Increase their knowledge of global issues, regions, and cultures
- Improve their intercultural skills
- Develop attitudes that cultivate global citizenship
Implementation of “Global Learning: A World of Opportunities for Appalachian Students” began in the 2013-14 academic year. Selection of this topic complements Appalachian’s new strategic plan and attention to diversity.
